1st Congressional District of Connecticut live-in-person debate

Where:  Travelers Center for Arts and Culture at Hartford Public Library, 500 Main St.
When:  July 29, 2026, from 6:00 to 7:00 pm
Why:  Democratic Primary, August 11, 2026, picks candidate for Democratic Party ballot
Who:  Four Candidates Running – Luke Bronin, Ruth Fortune, Jillian Gilchrest, John Larson
Invitees:  open to the public, especially eligible voters in the 1 st Congressional District, CT

League of Women Voters Greater Hartford and its partners Hartford Public Access TV (HPATV),
West Hartford Access (WHCI); and Hartford Votes, invite the voters of the 27 towns in the first
1st District to join us in person at the Travelers Center for Arts and Culture at Hartford Public
Library for this live Primary debate.

The debate moderator will be a non-partisan League member from outside of the 1st District.

The doors to the center open at 5:30 pm.

There is parking at the rear of the library and plenty of parking on the surrounding streets and parking lots. No
charge in Hartford for evening on-street parking.

The debate will be live-streamed on www.HPATV.org, broadcast live on HPATV39's Cable TV
Channels (Xfinity Channel 96 GOV and Frontier Channel 6032 GOV), the HPA TV YouTube
Channel, HPATV39 Facebook Page and HPATV39's AppleTV, RokuTV and PrimeTV apps. It will also
be streamed live by partner station West Hartford Community Interactive (Comcast Channel 5
and Frontier Channel 6098) and its YouTube Channel. Bloomfield and Windsor community
stations have committed to picking up the live stream.
Rebroadcast will occur on all HPATV and WHCTV channels and streaming outlets and made available for video on demand via the HPA TV YouTube Channel.  
Other public-access stations in the 1st District will receive the broadcast.

Connecticut 39's 1st Congressional District serves these 27 cities and towns: Barkhamsted, Berlin,
Bloomfield, Bristol, Colebrook, Cromwell, East Granby, East Hartford, East Windsor,
Glastonbury (partial), Granby, Hartford, Hartland, Manchester, Middletown (partial), New
Hartford, Newington, Portland, Rocky Hill, South Windsor, Southington, Torrington (partial),
West Hartford, Wethersfield, Winchester, Windsor, and Windsor Locks.
