America250 Event: The Supreme Court

As part of our community's 250th Anniversary celebration of the Declaration of Independence, the League of Women Voters of Weston is presenting a thought-provoking program entitled "The Supreme Court: The Idea and the Reality" at the Weston Public Library. It will explore the role of the United States Supreme Court in our government from a historical perspective, examining the critical role that the Supreme Court plays in interpreting the Constitution and deciding what the law is. It will look at some of the most important issues that have come before the Court during the Nation’s history, and how those issues reverberate in the Court and our Nation today.

The event will feature The Hon. Albert M. Rosenblatt, former Judge of New York’s highest court and a professor at NYU School of Law, in conversation with international trial lawyer and dispute resolution innovator Dennis Tracey. Dennis is a former Weston Selectman and a current member of the Lachat Oversight Committee. Questions from the audience will be taken as time allows. Light refreshments will be provided.
