Hamden Voters Invited to Meet Legislative Council Candidates – October 8
League of Women Voters of Hamden/North Haven Hosts Public Forum Ahead of November Election

The League of Women Voters of Hamden/North Haven invites the public to a Meet and Greet with Hamden Legislative Council candidates on Wednesday, October 8, from 6:30 to 9:00 p.m. at Hamden’s Miller Library, Thornton Wilder Auditorium, 2901 Dixwell Avenue.

All candidates have been invited to participate. Each will have three minutes to introduce themselves and share their two top priorities. Afterward, residents will have the chance to speak directly with the candidates, ask questions, and learn more about where they stand on issues that matter to the community.

Hamden’s Legislative Council is made up of 15 members: nine representing individual districts and six serving as At-Large council representatives. While district representatives focus on the needs of their specific neighborhoods, At-Large members represent the entire town shaping decisions that affect every resident, every district, and Hamden’s future as a whole.

This event gives voters the chance to understand the important role of all Legislative Council members and to gather the information they need to make informed choices about who will best represent their families, neighborhoods, and the entire community.

The League of Women Voters, founded in 1920 just six months before the ratification of the 19th Amendment, has welcomed both women and men (since 1974) who are dedicated to strengthening democracy.
