LWV Greenwich is honored to welcome back HBS Professor David Moss to moderate this ENCORE Community Case Discussion centered around a pivotal debate at the Constitutional Convention of 1787:
- Should the federal government have veto power over state laws?
- How much power - and what kind of power - should the federal government have over states?
These are questions that have both historical significance and modern resonance. Participants will read the short case in advance of the event and come prepared to discuss and debate it.
As in past years, adults will join with Greenwich high school students for this intergenerational conversation. We will also be welcoming League members and high school teachers from around the country to participate in the discussion. Since 2019, 115 League chapters from 33 states have nominated teachers to join the project, and we expect this number to grow exponentially in the coming years.
