The LWV of Greenwich invites you to a post 2024 election discussion "Understanding the Results of the 2024 Election: A Political Scientist's Interpretation" on Wednesday, December 11th from 9am to 10:30am at the Tomes-Higgins House at Christ Church, Greenwich. Light breakfast, pastries and coffee will be served.
UCONN Professor of Political Science & President Emeritus, Susan Herbst, will lead a discussion about the 2024 elections – the campaigns, the candidates, and the aftermath. She will start by explaining how political scientists and campaign experts view the election, and this will help to kick off a broader conversation about what it all means.
There are so many questions: How should we think about the election, in historical context? Does President Trump have a “mandate”, and if so, what exactly does that entail? What best explains the election outcome, and what are scholars of democracy and public opinion evaluating most closely? Please come with your thoughts, questions, and ideas.
