Join a bi-partisan coalition of community groups for a virtual panel discussion, “Unsung Heroines: Women of the Civil Rights Movement.”

The virtual discussion with the Civil Rights heroines will take place via Zoom and Facebook LIVE on Tuesday, March 2nd at 7:30pm. The event will feature Lisa McNair, Joanne Bland, and Dr. A. Lenora Taitt-Magubane as panelists, and we'll have Freedom Rider, Joan Browning, moderating the conversation.

This virtual panel discussion will focus on events during the Civil Rights Movement including the tragic 1963 bombing of the 16th Street Church in Birmingham and the 1965 Selma March for voting rights as well as the racial and social justice movements sweeping across our country today.

Topics will include the important role Black women played during the Civil Rights Movement and continue to have in the struggle for social and racial justice, the struggle for and importance of voting rights during the Civil Rights Movement and today, and how to organize for justice.
