What is a Speak Up?
The annual Speak Up brings together elected town leaders, chairs of appointed boards, committees and commissions, and key town and school officials to answer questions from the public about community and government issues.
This is your opportunity to:
- Get to know our town officials and get informed about our town!
- Ask your questions and/or voice your concerns.
- Hear directly from elected officials and town employees.
Invited Panelists include:
Redding First Selectman; Social Services Director; Board of Finance Chair; Health Officer; Chief of Police; Superintendent of Schools; Fire Chief; Planning and Zoning Officer; Building Inspector; Park & Recreation Director; and others.
About Us:
Encouraging informed and active citizen participation in government in Redding, CT for over 60 years. The League of Women Voters, a nonpartisan political organization, encourages the informed and active participation of citizens in government, works to increase understanding of major public policy issues, and influences public policy through education, civil dialogue, and advocacy. We are a group of women and men who believe in the power of voters to 'make a difference' and advocate for good government at the local, state, and federal levels.
