This past month, Leagues representing 50 states and DC filed an amicus brief in the Moore v. Harper case before the Supreme Court. The case concerns the so-called “independent state legislature theory," which, if adopted, would have far-reaching implications for the future of American democracy. On Wednesday, December 7, the Supreme Court will hear oral arguments, and we must show up with our full League Power! LWVUS will mobilize 100+ League members to rally in front of the Supreme Court to lift our message through media, social media, and our physical League presence.

Join the League of Women Voters for a rally in front of the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court will hear the case of Moore v. Harper that will determine if State Legislatures have the power and authority to run federal elections in their states, without any checks and balances, that could prevent fairer voting maps, fairer elections, and the protection of voter rights. This case’ implication will impact voters in North Carolina and across the country. 

Training will be offered the evening of December 6th at a TBD location in the Dupont Circle area of DC. We will be gathering at a location near the Supreme Court at 8:30am on December 7th. Registrants will receive the location in their confirmation email.
