There were 140 million Americans living in poverty or one emergency away from economic ruin before the pandemic. Today, millions continue living on the edge of hunger or eviction, without access to health care or living wages.
They are the people most vulnerable to decisions like the potential overturning of Roe v. Wade. They are the people most vulnerable to climate change, systemic racism, and economic oppression.
This June, we're joining the Poor People's Campaign in demonstrating the power of poor and low-income people and demanding systemic change.

If you're planning to join from Connecticut, please reserve your rideshare seat departing from Hartford or New Haven immediately (spaces are limited and filling quickly). For those unable to join in-person, digital actions will be available.
The rally point is 1 Union Place, Hartford departing 1:37 AM June 18 and returning to Hartford 11:07 PM same day. Cost is $90 before June 1.

The New Haven People's Center is chartering a bus that will depart from Hartford at midnight and stop in New Haven on Sat June 18 at 1 am continuing to DC, arriving back in Connecticut around 1 am on Sunday June 19. Cost is $100 per person. Financial assistance is available. If you cannot travel on the bus, you can also pay for a bus seat for someone else.
