The League of Women Voters of Connecticut has a Public Issues Team of specialists on several topics, mostly related to Government & Election Law. We depend on our members and allies to back up our positions when necessary by reaching out to their own legislators.. LWVCT holds an annual orientation and training day, with remarks from staff of legislature and administration. League members and allies are welcome.

2020: Absentee Ballots During COVID-19 Pandemic
No one should have to choose between voting safely and their health.
Successful Calls to Action During the COVID-19 Emergency: Watch LWVCT's VP of Advocacy, Judy Lhamon, give live testimony in support of expanding absentee voting in November HERE. After months of groups and individuals around the state urging legislative leadership to address safe voting in November, CT General Assembly convened in a special session in July 2020. The resulting legislation enabled all voters to vote by absentee ballot in the General Election on November 3, 2020.
