NOTICE: The State Capitol Complex will be closed Thursday, November 28th. Capitol Information and Tours will be closed on Friday, November 29th. The building will be open for self-guided tours only on November 29th. For the Wednesday, Nov. 27th tour schedule please call (860) 240-0222.

 

Tours do not take place on State and Federal Holidays, the day after Thanksgiving or between Christmas and New Year’s Day.  

The Capitol and Legislative Office Building are open to the public Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. The buildings are closed weekends and all state and federal holidays. 

Guided tours are available by reservation on weekdays at 9:15, 10:15, 11:15, 12:15, and 1:15. Self-guided tours are available on weekdays only from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. 

Public entrances are located on the west side of the Capitol and Legislative Office Building. The tours begin at the west entrance of the Legislative Office Building located at 300 Capitol Avenue. Masks are optional.

Please note: Groups of 6 or more must book a tour in advance. Please book your tour at least 2 business days in advance. Advance reservations are encouraged but not required for groups of less than 6. Walk-in visitors will be accommodated to the best of our ability. Tours are subject to change due to construction and events in the building.

The Capitol Information and Tours office currently offers both in-person and virtual tour options.
