Forum Information
The League of Women Voters of New Castle County and the Newark Senior Center are hosting a forum for candidates for Newark City Council on Tuesday March 24, 2020. All qualified candidates from districts 3 and 5 have been invited to participate. The format is moderated Q&A, with question cards accepted from the audience.
Travis McDermott from district 6 who is running unopposed will be introduced but will not answer questions on-stage. A "Meet and Greet" for all candidates will follow the program.
The forum is free and open to the public.
Video of the entire event will be available on our website (my.lwv.org/delaware/new-castle-county) after the event, and we also plan to livestream on Facebook (at www.facebook.com/LWVNCC) on that evening.
Election Information
The city election for Council Districts 3 and 5 is to be held on Tuesday, April 14, 2020. Polls open at 7:00 a.m. and close at 8:00 p.m. The polling places for the election are as follows:
- District 3 - Aetna Hose, Hook and Ladder Fire Station #7, 7 Thorn Lane
- District 5 - First Presbyterian Church, Memorial Hall, 292 W. Main Street
