Contact Marj Johnson for more information or to sign up as a delegate. LWVNCC is allocated 22 delegates, which basically means that everyone who wants to attend, can attend. Come and learn; get to know the Kent and Sussex County members.

Agenda

The business of the convention this year will be the election of officers and directors, adoption of a two-year budget and a two-year program, and consideration of proposed bylaw changes.

Extras

  • Catered lunch and refreshments
  • Meet other League members from all three counties
  • Workshop - Advocacy Corps sample session

Members of the AC will consider new bills introduced since our last meeting to decide whether to support, oppose, or monitor. Portfolio chairs will present the status of major bills and explain the intent of new proposals. YOU can join in the AC’s consideration by expressing your thoughts about the bills under review and what policy positions we have as a basis for support or opposition.

Among possible topics: Should we support dental care for Medicaid recipients? Should the state require a permit to buy a gun? What position should we take on a new plastic bag bill?
