Why should I join?
Through participation in League, you will
- receive an informative newsletter ten times a year
- support a lobby for good government; maybe even lobby yourself!
- help register voters
- make new professional contacts
- develop lasting friendships as you meet others in League who share your interests
- represent the League at local government meetings
- learn about important issues in our community and
- support the National League that stands up for good government on a national scale
How much time does it take?
It's up to you! Many members choose to support the League only with their annual dues. Your membership alone gives us the political influence needed to build a voice for citizens and a force for change. We cover a broad spectrum of issues and concerns; you may choose to become involved in one or more of them by actively participating in a group study, or listening to a panel of experts at a meeting or just reading about them in one of our publications. We always can use more help with one of our committees. See the What We Do / Volunteer Opportunities page for specific suggestions.
How much does it cost?
A single basic membership is $55 for the July 2019-2020 fiscal year. Household memberships for two people are $82.50. Note that long-term members who've been in the League for 50 years or more pay no annual dues.
Great news! Starting in July 2019, student membership (formerly $15) in the LWVNCC is free.
If the annual dues cause a hardship for you, inquire about scholarships. We may be able to sponsor or subsidize your membership.
What do I get?
