The League of Women Voters of Sussex County has held forums on the threats to clean drinking water in our county and continues in its mission to inform the public on this issue. DNREC will be holding a public hearing on the Allen Harim Harbeson Chicken Plant's waste water treatment and spray irrigation on August 21st at Mariner Middle school in Milton. The LWVSC has been a supporter of affordable housing for workers in Sussex County. The Cape Gazette published an article on the results of a study conducted by consultants. 'Read more' for a link to that article.

UPDATE 6/11/19 : Sussex County Council voted 3-2 to require developers to build their cluster subdivisions with a "superior design," in order to preserve more open space. That means developers must meet a certain amount of open space, setbacks and preservation.
