The Florida House of Representatives will likely hear House Bill 543 TOMORROW (March 23) which would bring permitless carry to Florida. We're urging Florida League members to contact their Representative and encourage them to vote NO on HB 543 & the pending open carry amendment.

04/11/23: Senate Bill 300 & House Bill 7, the legislation containing Florida's near total abortion ban, will be voted on by the Florida House on Thursday (April 13). This is the final opportunity to ask legislators to oppose this legislation before it heads to the Governor's desk. We're urging every Florida League members to contact all members of the Florida House of Representatives and encourage them to vote "NO" on Senate Bill 300 & House Bill 7.

The Alachua County Board of County Commissioners (BoCC) recently heard an initial request for a large-scale development on 4000+ acres known as the Lee Property. LWVAC is asking the BoCC to reject this initial request, called a Special Area Study, until all efforts to secure funding for preserving the entire property are exhausted.

LWVUS and Lyft have announced a partnership to provide access to transportation to the polls on Election Day. Through its LyftUp Voting Access Program, Lyft will offer free and discounted rides for the upcoming midterm elections.

Please send a letter to the UAB, GRU, and City Commission and/or attend the meeting on March 9th to voice your opposition to GRU rebates to customers who buy/convert to gas appliances. These rebates promote the use of fossil gas and should be eliminated.
