Before you cast your ballot, check out the LWV online Voter Guide, VOTE411
The LWV of Alachua County invited your local candidates to participate in VOTE411. You can learn about their qualifications and where they stand on the issues by going to www.vote411.org.
When you get to the webpage, you will see the above illustration. Click the Find What’s On Your Ballot box in the upper-right.
You will be asked to enter your address and your party. By doing this you will only see the candidates appearing on your ballot.
While local candidates were responsive, many running for state-level offices were not. Don’t become discouraged if candidates running at the state level did not respond. Move on to the next race. It’s easy to know who responded because you will see their pictures; those who didn’t respond will only have a placeholder photo as shown below.
You have a right to know where candidates stand on the most important issues in your community. Even after multiple contacts from League volunteers across the country, some candidates have not yet answered our questions – which is why we need your help! We’re asking you to urge your candidates to fill out the voter guide as soon as possible. The more voters who contact candidates, the more likely they are to fill it out. Learn how you can help.
When you have viewed all the races and selected the candidates, click the Finish button at the top of the last page. It will ask for your email and/or phone number so your selections can be emailed or texted to you. Use it as your Cheat Sheet when you go to the polls or complete your vote by mail ballot.
