Join us for our next meeting where we will be joined by two special guests! 

James Ingle, newly inaugurated Gainesville At-Large City Commissioner, will talk about current happenings in the city and provide an update on issues with respect to the legislative session and home rule that we may need to be aware of. We will hopefully have time for a few questions so please think about anything you might want to ask Commissioner Ingle!

Additionally, Julie Thaler is a local voting rights restoration activist who will talk about what she is working on related to voting rights restoration and how there may be ways we can get involved to help returning citizens this year. She has done such great work on this issue and was instrumental in the passage of Amendment 4 in 2018 which restored voting rights to those with felony convictions.

We are excited to have these outstanding community figures share in a discussion with our committee about how we can make a local impact on issues that really matter to people. That will be the general theme of our committee and meetings in 2025. We must protect and advocate for our community in these times more than ever.
