League of Women Voters of hosts Public Forum on Local Government Study

Missoula, MT – The League of Women Voters of Missoula is hosting an informational forum
on a Review of Local Government in a public program Tuesday, May 9, 2023, from 11:30
am to 1:00 pm at the Missoula Public Library, Cooper Room A. The forum is free and
open to the public.

Every ten years, the voters of every Montana County, City and Town are asked if they want
to review their form of local government.  That question will be on the ballot across
Montana in June of 2024.  What does it mean to you and your neighbors?  Geoff Badenoch,
League of Women Voters Board Member, has 22 years’ experience in local government and
served on Missoula’s Local Government Review Commission in the 1990’s.  His
presentation explains the roots of this once a decade question and what the answer to the
question means for your local government. The League of Women Voters Missoula is
undertaking a public education program over the next year or so to inform the people of
Missoula and Missoula County about this upcoming vote.

The League of Women Voters of Missoula is a nonpartisan, non-profit volunteer political
