Leandro: Fulfilling Our Promise to North Carolina Students

Speaker: Lynn Edmonds, Outreach Director of Public Schools First, NC will discuss how the recommendations of the WestEd Report can implement the 1997 Leandro decision in which the NC Supreme Court declared that all students are entitled to receive a “sound basic education.” 

North Carolina is at a critical crossroads in the funding of our public schools. Districts across the state are struggling to do more with less. The pandemic has highlighted issues of equity of concern to all. Join us as we discuss the Leandro court case and what North Carolinians must do to ensure all children receive a sound, basic education as promised in our state constitution. You must Register for this meeting.
