Regular first Tuesday meeting for the Voting & Elections subcommittee of the LWVDE Advocacy Corps.
Committee members met with Delaware Elections Commissioner Anthony Albence on Wednesday 11/18/2020, and with some of the newly elected General Assembly members on 11/19 and 11/21, so part of this next meeting will be reviewing our 2021 legislative priorities in light of Anthony's input and the legislators interests.
Legislative priorties discussed for committee advocacy include the following:
- No-excuse absentee voting
- Implementing a permanent vote-by-mail option
- Changing the primary election date
- Extending the deadline for registering to vote
- Allowing poll workers to work split shifts
