Fair Districts NC and the League of Women Voters are excited to welcome Tomas Lopez, Executive Director of Democracy NC, and La'Meshia Whittington, Campaigns Director at NC Black Alliance and Deputy Director at Advance Carolina, to discuss how to engage residents across the state in pushing for fair maps.

 

This year, NC will redraw many of its county commissions, city councils, and school boards, maps that can be just as vulnerable to gerrymandering as our legislative and congressional districts. Informing and mobilizing residents across the state will therefore play a critical part in getting fair maps at all levels. The webinar will also premiere our new Fair Counties NC website, a one-stop-shop for information local residents need to get engaged in redrawing county commission districts. The site provides county-specific tools and information on 12 counties especially vulnerable to gerrymandering.
