The Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) is the principle global intergovernmental body exclusively devoted to promoting women’s rights, documenting the reality of women’s lives throughout the world, and shaping global standards on gender equality and the empowerment of women. The League of Women Voters of the United States has been an active participant in the Commission on the Status of Women meetings since its inception in 1946; presenting and commenting at Commission meetings, sponsoring panels and events, and having League members involved and in attendance.

 

CSW66 is a two week event affiliated with the United Nations. The meeting will take place from 13 March -25 March, 2022 virtually.

Registration for the Forum through NGO CSW/NY is free and you can get details here. NGO CSW/NY organizes the civil society side of the UN Commission on the Status of Women (CSW). The NGO CSW Forum runs parallel to the official session taking place at the UN Headquarters. This provides civil society the opportunity to engage in the processes and CSW sessions without ECOSOC-accreditation or a UN grounds pass.
