Gerrymandering is still threatening our democracy, so let's get ready for what's coming this fall. Meeting location will depend on Covid. Hopefully, we will be able to get together. If not, a Zoom link will be provided close to the meeting date.

The two main events are: 1) the US Supreme Court hearing on an NC case, Moore v Harper, which could literally give the legislature total control over federal (biennial) elections with no recourse to state courts, and 2) the redrawing of our congressional map, which must be completed in 2023. We may see action right here in Orange County, too!

All the attention to gerrymandering has moved the needle with voters across the spectrum. Large majorities are now saying that rigged maps hurt our democracy and must end. Join us to discuss what we can do to get voters moving on this issue (and voting in the critical 2022 election) and to advance reform legislation in the new legislature.
