This Hillsborough event is one of more than 50 events across the country organized by a coalition of 200 pro-democracy groups, the Voter Empowerment Collaborative, to thank these unsung election heroes. The event in Hillsborough is organized by local Orange County volunteers in cooperation with the League of Women Voters of Orange, Durham, and Chatham Counties to express their appreciation for hard-working and dedicated poll workers and election officials, who year in and year out, perform the essential work that keeps elections fair and free. Unfortunately, local election officials and volunteers are facing attacks as never before. One in five local election administrators around the country say they are likely to leave their jobs before the 2024 presidential election. One in three know an election worker who has already left. Please join us in celebrating them on April 12. Details of the event and who to contact for further information.
