Overview and agenda:

Day 1 (Thursday, April 28, Hybrid):

Dwight "Kip" Holley, of Ohio State University's Kirwan Institute for the Study of Race and Ethnicity, will present a Keynote Address. In this interactive address, Kip Holley will discuss the importance of equitable and inclusive civic engagement strategies within our changing communities. He will also discuss how organizations and community leaders can develop more inclusive and equitable relationships with diverse community members by beginning their approach upon bedrock principles aimed at addressing systemic inequities and expanding the space for engagement on the level of processes, norms, and outcomes. The address will contain several group learning activities: Barriers to Equitable Engagement, The Principles of Equitable Civic Engagement, and Working with the Principles. The first day will end with a swearing in of the Civic Ambassadors.

Day 2 (Friday, April 29, Fully Virtual):

A panel of Civic Ambassadors and others will engage on topics related to the keynote address. Participants will then break off into small discussion groups to address what they learned from the panel. A plenary session will follow and then the Summit will wrap up with closing remarks.
