St. Louis City and County Voting

For statewide results of the Nov. 5 election, go to State of Missouri - Election Night Results. St. Louis County results and city of St. Louis election results also are available.

On this page you will see some special considerations for St. Louis City and St. Louis County voters. The deadline is March 12 to register to vote in the municipal elections on April 8, 2025.

Close-to-home elections affect your life the most. Elections help determine the level of school funding, public safety, affordable housing, and public transportation that we enjoy.

Local elections can decide whether the potholes on the streets in your neighborhood get fixed, whether your school district has enough money, whether your neighborhood gets the resources it needs.

Not many people vote in local elections, so every vote counts even more! Municipal and county elections are your chance to be heard and choose your new government representatives or school board members.

ST. LOUIS CITY VOTERS

St. Louis City now has 14 wards (down from 28).  See the detailed map of new ward boundaries that went into effect in 2022.

VOTE in-person on Election Day. Or, you can vote absentee by mail or in person starting six weeks before Election Day.  Do not let a disability keep you from voting. There are in-person voting aids for people with disabilities.

Approval Voting in St. Louis City Primary

Candidates for Mayor, Comptroller, President of the Board of Aldermen, and Aldermen now need broad support from voters to win office. The two top vote-getters in the March primary will be on the ballot for the April general election. The approval voting method decreases the influence of big money by allowing voters to support grassroots candidates who have less money without worrying about "splitting the vote" or "spoiling" the election.

St. Louis County Voters

On Election Day, you can now vote at any polling place in St. Louis County. The polling place will print your specific ballot. On Election Day, that website will provide you with the number of people waiting to vote at a specific location you select.

Satellite voting locations around the county are available for no-excuse in-person absentee voting during a two week period before election day.  St. Louis County provides a detailed explanation of everything you need to know about St. Louis County absentee voting options.
