Background:
HB 5718/SB 374, the Connecticut Voting Rights Act, was introduced on January 18, 2023. If the legislation is approved into law, Connecticut would join California, Washington, Oregon, Virginia, and New York in a growing group of states with laws that affirmatively protect voters from discriminatory rules and practices.
