Join Everyday Democract for the 2023 Connecticut Civic Ambassadors Summit on Saturday, March 25 at the Chrysalis Center, 255 Homestead Avenue in Hartford, CT.
The event will start with lunch at 11:45 a.m. followed by welcome remarks by Ms. Merle McGee, President and CEO of Everyday Democracy Inc. and Mr. Valeriano Ramos of Everyday Democracy and Coordinator of the CT Civic Ambassadors Initiative.
The keynote will be delivered by Mr. Matt Leighninger, Head of Democracy Innovation at the National Conference on Citizenship.
That will be followed by a small group civic/community mapping session facilitated by Mr. Valeriano Ramos using the newly released tool --Local Civic Health: A Guide to Building Community and Bridging Divides.
Then, a special panel--Voting Rights, Access, and Early Voting in Connecticut--moderated by Mr. Richard Frieder of Hartford Votes-Vota Coalition, will follow. The panel will feature short presentations by Dr. Walton Brown-Foster, Professor of Political Science at Central CT State University; Mr. Holden Culotta (Organizer with CT Voters First); Mr. Steven Lance (Policy Director with the NAACP Legal Defense and Education Fund and Coordinator of the CT Voting Rights Act Coalition); Ms. Carole Mulready (President of the League of Women Voters of Greater Hartford); and Ms. Yanidsi Vélez (New England Director with the Hispanic Federation); The panel will focus on the current legislative measures being proposed by Governor Lamont, legislative leaders, and voting rights advocates in support of early voting, a CT Voting Rights Act, and Ranked Choice Voting in Connecticut.
The Summit will end with a Call to Action Closing Plenary and the swearing-in of the CT Civic Ambassadors!

This is a FREE event open to the general public, but you must pre-register to attend. There are only 70 spots available at the Summit, so, if you plan to attend, please register and encourage the folks you share the information with to register by 12 noon on Monday, March 20.
