Climate Emergency

Meetings on Zoom at 3pm on the fourth Thursday of the month,
unless it is a holiday, then we meet on the third Thursday.

The Climate Change Committee helps with education to to identify things we can do to reduce the causes of climate change and adapt to our changing future.

August Report

In the August meeting we talked about data centers, incentives for local cities and schools, and we discussed some of the pros and cons of proposition 45. In our next meeting we will look at the status of the climate bills that passed the legislature and went to the governor's desk for him to sign.

September 7 is California Biodiversity Day. There are several events scheduled between September 5 and September 13 including a "Find 30 Species Challenge." For information go to bit.ly/CABiodiversityDay.

The League takes action on climate
  • The LWV US submitted comments to the EPA regarding the "2009 Endangerment Finding" which enabled the EPA to regulate harmful gas emissions.  LINK
