Activities:
In 2025 we showed up at 17 community events around the county. About 40 volunteers helped staff our booth at these events, which really helped get out the word about the League and bring in new members. Big thanks to all who volunteered!
- Saturday, January 17th, 10:00am-1:00pm - The Justice for All (JFA) Women’s March will be in Ventura’s Plaza Park, 651 E. Thompson, Ventura
- Monday, January 19th, 8:00am-2:00pm - Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, at the Oxnard Performing Arts Center, 800 Hobson Way, Oxnard, CA 93030
We will be handing out a new flyer about LWV California’s Action Alert to do away with the death penalty in California.
Highlights from recent events:
On November 8th we participated in a new event, the Conejo Valley Community Action Fair, that took place in Conejo Creek North Park. The event was well attended. Traditional dancers danced. Kathy Morgan spoke to attendees about the League, with an interpreter standing by to translate into Spanish. It was a great event for connecting with other community groups.
Many thanks to the volunteers who staffed our booth and informed voters: Kathy Morgan, Marla Cohn, Matty Park, Lillian Zelinski, Rick Wells, and Joan Palmeiri
