During the month of April the Community Outreach Committee was especially busy. We participated in:
  • “Civil Rights vs. Civil Liberties” cosponsored by the ACLU
  • Ventura College Diversity Event
  • MERITO Foundation Ventura Earth Day
  • Oxnard College Family Festival

Many thanks to all our volunteers: Joanne Abling, Mary Bergen, Jennifer Hall, Angela Landers, Carol Lindberg, Betti Mentzer, Janna Minsk, Kathy Morgan, Matty Park, Doris Simmelink, Maria Teran, and Lillian Zelinski.

We reached hundreds of people, informed them about the League, encouraged them to contact Senators about the SAVE Act, and provided details about eliminating the Electoral College. In addition, we gathered over two dozen pages of signatures on the petition for California Clean Money Campaign. What a great team!

There are 2 events scheduled for May:
  • May 10th, 10:00am- 1:00pm, Steve Bennett's Bike Rodeo & Resource Fair, Oxnard College, 4000 South Rose Ave, Parking Lot H.
  • May 17th, 10:00am-3:00pm, Youth Equity “Youth Volume Up” Expo., Camarillo Community Center, 1605 E Burnley St., Camarillo, CA 93010

Setup begins at 9:00am for both events. Members - watch for our SignUpGenius invitations to participate in upcoming events.
