At our meeting on June 18th we continued discussing the use of license plate readers and Flock cameras. Flock cameras are different from license plate readers. These cameras can capture detailed images of specific dings on cars, etc. They claim they do not yet use facial recognition. 

Each community within Ventura County has between 10 to 25 cameras. There was a breach in the system last year that allowed outside entities to obtain data information for a short period of time. Oxnard PD suspended the use of its 19 cameras.

We plan to have a speaker at our next meeting on July16th.
