The Housing & Homeless Committee invites you to join us at our meetings. We welcome fresh ideas on how we can support housing initiatives of all types, as well as prevention programs and essential services for our community.

News for September

In August our speaker was Karen Flock, the Deputy Director of Real Estate Development for the Housing Authority of the City of San Buenaventura (Ventura Housing), where she creates affordable housing for low-income residents, farmworkers, and people experiencing homelessness.

She presented the success of the City in providing affordable housing for a variety of groups. She stressed the importance of partnerships for particular projects that have unique funding requirements and opportunities. Much work remains to be done, particularly in the low- and very low-income categories.
