Learn about real "Rosie the Riveters" during World War II in New England and in Weston!

Park Ranger, Susan Ashman of the Springfield Armory National Historic Site will give a talk about Soldiers of Production: Women Ordnance Workers at Springfield Armory. In World War 1, 15% of the workforce at the Springfield Armory were women, at the height of World War II, it was 42%. Springfield Armory experienced a boom in women workers and through their dedication and patriotism to the job that they had to fill pushed forward not only the issues of equality for women, but proved these "Soldiers of Production" played a pivotal role in the workplace and on the home front.
