The 2024 LWVUS convention authorized a study on the federal judiciary to establish a new position to respond to controversies about both the ethics and the decision-making of the U.S. Supreme Court and other federal courts. The goal is to reach a consensus of the membership on broad principles that we want to uphold in the coming years.

March unit meetings kicked off the discussion on issues related to transparency, accountability, independence and ethics. Click here to find links to recommended reading and policy briefs prepared by the national committee, as well as the excellent town hall video mentioned in the consensus meeting . Thanks to all members who attended the March 29 meeting.
