Speaker: Krista Early, Clean Water Advocate, Environment North Carolina. Her topic will be Get the Lead Out Campaign: the pervasive problem of lead in NC public schools' drinking water.
Krista is circulating a sign-on letter for individuals and groups to show support for strong legislation to protect our children. The letter focuses on the lack of testing for lead in NC public schools and the need for remediation after poor lab results and will be sent/delivered to members of the General Assembly during the upcoming legislative session.
A monthly business meeting will follow the program. Since we know that we will not table at the Chatham County Ag Fest in March, we will brainstorm more ideas for EARTH DAY action in April. One idea will be tabling at the Durham Parks and Recreation 2020 Earth Day Festival on Sunday, April 19, 12-5 pm.
