Start preparing now, as we anticipate a House Judiciary Committee hearing the week after next. Update 3/21: After more than one of us getting dates from multiple sources in the know and/or near the top of the House food chain, any further statement about when the hearing "will be" may wait until it is actually posted. That posting often comes just 48 hours ahead of time, so we need to be ready.
We are supporting priority bills H 5434 Secure Storage, and H 5300 Assault Weapons ban. You may submit written testimony in support of these bills to housejudiciary [at] rilegislature.gov. Be sure to include the bill number and "Support" in the subject line, and your name and town in the body of the email. Close your testimony by urging them to bring the bill to the floor for a vote. Also, if you don't want to write a thesis, it is just as effective to say something like "Please SUPPORT Bill # and send it to the floor for a vote." They keep track of the numbers they receive for and against.
