The Rhode Island Supreme Court has rejected a legal challenge to a state law guaranteeing a woman’s right to an abortion, ruling that lawmakers had constitutional authority to approve the Reproductive Privacy Act in 2019.

The Rhode Island League has been continuously working to preserve reproductive rights as the issue has never waned in Rhode Island. We have been active members of the 2:1 Coalition to Preserve Choice, Rhode Island Choice Coalition, Rhode Island Coalition for Reproductive Freedom, and assorted other groups.

In 2019 we worked with the RI Coalition for Reproductive Freedom to pass the Reproductive Privacy Act.
