2026 SC General Elections--November 3
2026 General Election races across the state include:
- Statewide executive offices
- US Senate Class II seat (currently held by Darline Graham)
- US House Districts
- SC House Districts
2026 General Election races in the Midlands also include:
- SC 5th Circuit Solicitor
- County Council seats in Lexington (Districts 2, 7, 8, 9) and Richland (Districts 1, 4, 5, 6, 11)
- School Board seats in Lexington (Districts 2, 3, 4, 5) and Richland (Districts 1, 2, 5)
- Lexington County: Soil and Water Conservation District, Probate Judge
- Richland County: Soil and Water Conservation District, Probate Judge, Auditor, Treasurer
- Town of Irmo Referendum
Key Dates
- Tuesday, September 22—LWVCA publishes races in VOTE411.org
- October 2, 5:00 pm— Deadline to register to vote in person for General Election.
- October 5--Deadline to register to vote by mail for General Election (must be postmarked by this date).
- October 19 through October 31—Early voting for General Election at county voter registration offices and other early voting centers. Hours: 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. (Monday – Saturday). Closed Sunday, October 25.
- October 23, 5:00 pm-- Deadline to apply for absentee ballot for General Election.
- Tuesday, November 3—General Election Day
- Polls open 7:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m.
- 7 pm is also deadline for county boards to receive absentee ballots.
- Military and overseas voters’ ballots accepted through 5:00 p.m., November 5.
Before You Vote
- Make sure your voter registration is current by checking your registration information at SCVotes.
- If you have moved from one county to another, you must register in your new county to be eligible to vote.
