Our Bodies, Our Choice (OBOC) is a new group of local women organizing to increase public awareness of reproductive rights issues and to encourage people to vote.  Its founding members are eager to collaborate with other groups, such as the League, to educate and engage voters around these important issues.

At June’s First Tuesday Talk, Jeri Rogers, publisher of Artemis, will share the group’s origin story. Sara Dalton will give an update on outcomes of the reproductive rights-related legislation in Virginia. Pat Hyer will lead a discussion about how to engage young women voters and points of collaboration with other groups.

After the group’s presentation, League members will have time to ask questions and talk with the Our Bodies, Our Choice members.

June’s talk will be our second brownbag luncheon. Bring your sandwich or salad to the library’s meeting room and join your friends for a important program and a chance to enjoy the company of fellow League members. Bring a friend to discuss this issue, which continues to be one of the League’s legislative priorities.

Tuesday, June 4th, 2024, 11:45 a.m. at the Blacksburg Library Meeting Room (brownbag lunch).
