Democracy is Not a Spectator Sport...Get Involved!

The League of Women Voters of Ventura County is a political organization with a rich history spanning nearly 60 years in the County.

The League of Women Voters was founded to educate the newly franchised voters - women - as a result of passage and ratification of the 19th Amendment in 1920.  The goal has always been to educate all citizens about the voting process and help them become informed about the candidates' positions and the issues being raised.

The League never supports or opposes candidates or political parties. We promote democracy and political responsibility at the local, state and national levels through voter education, issue advocacy and the active participation of citizens.

Our Mission: Empowering voters. Defending Democracy.  Come join us as we make democracy work.
