The Problem
What needs to happen:
Action:
- Contact your representative and ask that they prioritize funding for the Secretary of the State's office for Early Voting training, education and implementation and for education for the No Excuse Absentee Ballot Referendum in November.
- Join us on Lobby Day in Hartford, Thursday April 25th at 11 am in the Second Floor Atrium where will gather before heading over to the Capitol to lobby for this funding along with other bills. RSVP to advocacy [at] lwvct.org and call (203)288-7996 with any questions.

We know that last year the Governor and the representatives who worked to pass this legislation said they were sure that the government would provide the funding needed to make sure that early voting was implemented appropriately. The Governor said “We are partners with our municipalities and we are doing our part as well.” Providing no funding for early voting does not allow for a path for success and greatly dims the promise that the state has made to its voters.
Also at stake is funding for education for the No Excuse Absentee Ballot Referendum this November. We need to make sure people understand what this referendum is and how it effects their right to vote. The League of Women Voters works tirelessly to ensure that the process of voting is available to as many eligible citizens as possible and that the process is clearly understood.
