The League of Women Voters of Connecticut Education Fund (LWVCTEF) board will determine which candidates will be invited to participate in a LWVCT EF sponsored or co-sponsored candidate debate. All candidates who have met the standards as determined by the Secretary of the State’s Office to qualify for appearance on the ballot for the contested office(s) covered by the debate, and who meet the additional stated criteria, will be invited to participate.

The 2024 short legislative session was a difficult one. The fiscal guardrails adopted by the General Assembly in the previous session prevented the passage of many bills with fiscal notes. Among the gains we made, the legislature allocated $1 million for Early Voting implementation, banned foreign contributions on state ballot referenda, and increased transparency in elections and protections for election workers.

Early voting begins on Tuesday March 26 and early voting polling locations have finally been posted! Attention all eligible citizens who are unaffiliated, unregistered, or 17-years old who will turn 18 by November 5: you still have time to enroll with a party if you want to vote in that party's primary.

Early in-person voting will be available in Connecticut for the first time for the Presidential Preference Primaries on Tuesday, April 2.
