Hamden, CT – The League of Women Voters of CT congratulates State leadership and regional foundations for finding at least $1million to support grass-roots efforts to make sure every resident of CT counts in the 2020 census.
In 2014, it was missing voter lists and delayed starts at polling sites in Hartford. In 2018, residents waited up to seven hours just to cast a ballot in Mansfield and New Haven.
In 2020, the League of Women Voters will celebrate its 100th anniversary, and LWV Connecticut, along with its 24 local leagues, will mark this special occasion with a fundraising gala on February 22, 2020, at the Stamford Italian Center.
A free public forum will be held on Saturday, March 23, 10:00 a.m. at the Yale Law School, 127 Wall St. in New Haven to explore “Redistricting and the Perils of Gerrymandering.”
