• SB 305, the Delaware Climate Solutions Act, was voted out of Senate Energy Committee yesterday  and will be voted upon by full Senate this afternoon.
• The opposition is out in full force, representing fossil fuels. Their main complaint is that Department of Natural Resources would begin dictating policy to the state, but that’s totally wrong. Nothing about regulations or policy setting will change. DNREC will simply choreograph the state agencies and the state direction in terms of climate action.
• The bill would set serious greenhouse gas emission reduction goals (50% reduction by 2030 and 90% by 2050). Without this bill, our League renewable energy goals will be extremely difficult to bring to fruition.
• PLEASE contact your senator within the hour to urge them to vote YES on SB 305.
