The State Legislature


At the Delaware General Assembly site you can find your legislator, committee assignments, meeting schedules when the legislature is in session, bills being considered as well as their status, and much more. PDF icon Navigating the Legislature is a guide to the website. The legislature is comprised of 41 members in the House of Representatives and 21 Senators. They meet between early January and June 30 unless called into Special Session between July and December.

Delaware's Courts

At the Delaware Courts site, you can find details about the different courts and their specific functions.

The Delaware judiciary is composed of the Supreme Court, the Court of Chancery, the Superior Court, the Family Court, the Court of Common Pleas, the Justice of the Peace Courts, and related judicial agencies. In terms of interrelationships among the courts, the Delaware Court system is similar to a pyramid. The Justice of the Peace Courts and the Alderman's Courts represent the base of the pyramid and the Supreme Court the apex of the pyramid.
