The League of Women Voters Provides Election Resources for the September 10, 2024, Delaware State Primary Election
Delaware's state primary election is coming up on September 10, 2024, and early voting starts on August 28. This year is a "crowded" primary, with many candidates on the ballot. In particular, both major parties in Delaware have multiple candidates for Governor and for our Representative in Congress, so all voters registered as Democrat or Republican will have at least these two important races on their primary ballot in 2024.

VOTE411 Voter Guide
Each election year, the League of Women Voters of Delaware (LWVDE) provides the VOTE411 online voters' guide prior to each statewide election. Delaware voters can visit www.vote411.org to find both general information about voting in our state, and personalized voting information, showing all races and candidates who will be on your own ballot. This year, for the primary election, around 70% of Delaware primary candidates have returned our VOTE411 questionnaire, so you can compare their views on specific policy issues side-by-side.
Candidate Forums
In addition, our state and local Leagues sponsor candidate forums. Forums are one of the best ways to get a strong feel for candidates and their viewpoints. Video is now available for the three primary candidate forums sponsored by LWV in 2024:
- 8/22/2024 Lieutenant Governor forum co-sponsored by LWVDE and AKA Sorority Delaware Graduate Chapters (all 3 primary candidates) - https://youtu.be/8lFvDeYw2f0
- 8/19/2024 New Castle County Executive forum by LWVNCC (both candidates) - https://fb.watch/u4PM1Jy2PZ
- 8/15/2024 NCC Council President forum by LWVNCC (4 of 5 primary candidates) - https://fb.watch/u4PKM67guY
All three forum videos can also be found on our website, lwvdelaware.org.
Early Voting Starts August 28
Beginning with the 2022 election year, Delawareans now have an option to vote in-person up to ten days prior to statewide elections. Weekend days are included. The Delaware Department of Elections website lists the early voting dates and locations: elections.delaware.gov/elections/votinglocations.shtml
The League of Women Voters promotes active, informed participation in government. We encourage all Delaware voters to learn about the candidates and vote in the state primary election on September 10, 2024.
