LWV of Alachua County is joining LWVFL in supporting the Florida Right to Clean Water (RTCW) and the Amendment to Limit Government Interference with Abortion campaigns.

At the Journey to Juneteenth Freedom Fest, some volunteers will man the LWVAC table, register voters (training required), and answer voter questions while others will circulate through the crowd with petitions. Please contact vote [at] lwv-alachua.org (Voter Services) to volunteer.

Freedom Fest is a music & arts festival featuring music performances, vendors, a children’s zone & activities for children and elders, as we celebrate Emancipation Day, Juneteenth, & the idea of freedom and equality for all. Food, drinks, a bounce house, vendor merch & more will be available as we remember this momentous occasion in American history!

The RTCW is a constitutional amendment to clarify our priorities and a civil action to enforce our right to clean and healthy waters. The mission is to take this to Florida's voters; to educate them, to collect their petitions, and to ensure their voice is heard.

The Amendment to Limit Government Interference with Abortion is a citizen-led ballot initiative campaign to give women the right to seek abortions up to viability. Florida voters want women to have the chance to ensure that their personal medical decisions are theirs and theirs alone to make.
