Please submit testimony for SB 17! The League of Women Voters of Connecticut supports funding to municipalities to cover their costs for early voting, as the requirements placed on towns for early voting caused unfunded mandates in many locations in 2024. But we can do better - municipalities should receive funds to support early voting and ensure that our elections are accessible to all Connecticut voters.
April 22 updates on the SAVE Act, President Trump's Executive Order, and Funding for Connecticut's Elections. Connecticut voters can take action by 1) mobilizing friends in other states to urge Senators to vote no on the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility Act (SAVE) Act, and 2) pushing for Connecticut legislators to fund our elections and protect and expand voter access.

Yet immigrants have always been an easy target for bad actors, who use xenophobia to scapegoat foreign-born communities. In moments like this, we must stand against hate and for our neighbors. LWV and the National Partnership for New Americans have identified a few ways you can defend America’s immigrant communities.
The New Canaan Chapter of the League was formed in 1939, bringing the League's mission of engaging voters through education and advocacy to our community.
