In keeping with the League of Women Voters’ civic education and engagement mission, the Wheaton League is excited to initiate a new community conversation series using the framework of the national program entitled “Living Room Conversations.” The goal of these conversations is to bring local citizens together to discuss topics of mutual interest from multiple perspectives. All community members are invited to participate. Our partner for these conversations is Prairie Path Books. The bookstore provides the meeting space for our conversations at their facility in Town Square Shopping Center in South Wheaton. Our third conversation will take place on Monday evening, November 25, 2019, at 6:30 pm; and our topic will be To Vote or Not to Vote. Please register using the puple button.

How we treat each other is the difference between a great place to live and a bad place to live. We shape our world through relationships.

Most people agree we want communities where all people have dignity and respect. Yet respectful interactions are often not what we see modeled in the media and in politics. And far too many people feel disrespected in their lives. What is our role in these dynamics?

The topic, To Vote or Not to Vote, is structured to help us learn to engage in conversations with family, friends, or neighbors that share opinions and perspectives different from our own. Join us and share your thoughts.
